General information on the Urgent Needs Fund can be found here.
Who Will the Urgent Needs Fund Support?
The Urgent Needs Fund will support nonprofit organizations in WKCF’s 15-county service area in Southwest Kansas, and will focus on organizations that provide critical services in the wake of an unprecedented crisis, or are struggling to provide their normal services due to lost capacity. Critical services include, but are not limited to: Food distribution, shelter, (mental and physical) healthcare, education, and economic assistance. Grants made from the fund support funding gaps not covered by state or federal relief funding. Grants will be awarded between $500 and $5,000 per request. Agencies may apply as many times as necessary, but awarded funding will not exceed $5,000 total, per organization through December 31st, 2020.
The WKCF Grants Committee will review crisis grant applications on a rolling basis starting May 1st , 2020. The reviewing Committee will make decisions every 2 weeks through December 31st, 2020 or until available funds are expended, whichever comes first. Applicants will be notified by email as soon as possible. Payments will be made every 2 weeks while funds last. This notification will come in the form of an email as well as being marked on your application dashboard in the grant application system.
Organizations that are awarded a grant from the Urgent Needs Fund are still eligible for other regular cycle grants. The Final Report is due at completion of your Urgent Needs grant, or approximately one year from the date funds are awarded. However the final report for the Urgent Needs grant is not required to be completed prior additional grant requests will be reviewed or funded. The Final Report form will also be made available to you in the grant application system once your application has been approved, and is an online form that must be submitted back to the Foundation through the grant system.
