Amber Miller
Dr. Amber Miller works for the Kansas State Department of Education’s Accreditation and Design Team, as the West Regional Executive, supporting 88 school systems west of Salina. Before coming to KSDE, she was an Educational Consultant with Southwest Plains Educational Service Center, working in 40 school systems in the region. Amber also served the community as an Assistant Director at High Plains Educational Service Center, supervising 17 school systems in Southwest Kansas, and was an elementary music teacher for over 35 years in Western Kansas. Dr. Miller earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership in 2020, a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in ESL, along with endorsements in Gifted Education, Building and District Leadership, and a Specialist in Reading from Emporia State University. Amber was born and raised in Leoti, Kansas. She and her husband Mark have two children, Dr. Allison Allen, a Nurse Practitioner in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Austin Miller, who is engaged in the family farm operation with his father and uncle in Wichita County.
