Edward "E.J." Ochs grew up in WaKeeney, Kansas. He attended Fort Hays State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a double major in Organizational Leadership. E.J. began his law enforcement career with the Garden City Police Department in June 2003. Throughout his tenure, he has served in a variety of specialized assignments and leadership roles. He currently serves as the Commander of the Investigations Division, which includes the Intelligence/Drug Unit.

E.J. and his wife, Brandy, reside in Finney County and are parents of two sons. He is deeply committed to community service and is dedicated to supporting the continued growth and prosperity of Southwestern Kansas.
