Gordon was raised in north east Finney County and attended Garden City High School. In 2008, he graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelors degree in Agricultural Technology Management and a Business Minor. After two years in the grain industry, Gordon began farming alongside his father, growing wheat, corn, and milo. Gordon also serves on the board of Garden City Co-Op. He and his wife Kelly have three children.
