Surprise Legacy Gift Showing True Pioneer Spirit

Earlier this year, the WKCF received a $1.8M legacy gift, the largest in its 22-year history. A portion of the gift is allocated to provide permanent support for high school students in Grant County. The Anna and May Rosel Scholarship Fund, now established within the Western Kansas Community Foundation, will help educate young people for generations to come.

Board Chair's Perspective

With the support of the citizens of Southwest Kansas, and the vision of our staff and board members, Western Kansas Community Foundation had an exciting year. Between new funds created, additions made to existing funds and the enormous success of our first Match Day event, we were truly blessed.

Wichita County Community Foundation Reaches Endowment Goal

By Laura Berning, WCCF President 2017 marked the 15-year anniversary of the Wichita County Community Foundation (WCCF), an affiliate of WKCF. It was also the last year to raise money for matching GROW II funds from the Kansas Health Foundation. With these major milestones in mind, the WCCF board launched a capital campaign to reach one million dollars in endowed funds before the end of 2017. More than $260,000 in gifts were received throughout the year, making our ending endowed balance just over $1,000,000.
