WKCF is welcoming Rebecca Colburn as the new Operations Director.  

Rebecca Colburn was born and raised in Dodge City, KS. She earned a BA in Integrated Marketing in Communication from Wichita State University and has served as Marketing Director with University Mall in Pensacola, Florida, and a Residence Inn by Marriott in Miami, Fl.  While in Jacksonville, Rebecca was one of the co-founders of the Young Professional Chamber, which has now been in successful for over 12 years.

Rebecca is married to Richard Colburn and they have 4 children together: Madison, Isabella, Landon and Adilynn. After Richard completed his service overseas, the couple decided to move back to Southwest Kansas. Richard joined the Canine Officer Unit at the Garden City Police Department. Rebecca worked for the Girl Scouts in Garden City as a Community Development Officer and Membership Recruiter; she also graduated from Garden City Leadership in 2013.  

After 4 years of dedication to the Girl Scouts, Rebecca has accepted the position of Operations Director at Western Kansas Community Foundation. She is very eager to be involved in her community and looks forward to the opportunity to help Southwest Kansas flourish.

Rebecca will assume her role at WKCF on October 23th and will work closely with Liz Sosa in the beginning. Liz generously offered to provide bookkeeping and fund accounting services during the summer and fall until a full-time staff member was found. We thank Liz for her wonderful help and support!
