Tim Hanigan is an orthodontist, real estate developer, and community leader based in Garden City, Kansas. He was born and raised on a dairy farm in Iowa. In addition to farm work, he was employed at a beef production plant, where he saved money for college. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa, followed by a Master’s degree in Orthodontics from the University of Michigan. During his academic training, Tim conducted scientific research focused on the genetic factors influencing bone and vascular formation.

In 1995, Tim accepted a private practice associateship in Colorado Springs. With the goal of establishing his own practice, he relocated to Garden City, Kansas in 1997, where he founded High Plains Orthodontics. The practice has since grown to three offices, serving patients across Oklahoma, eastern Colorado, and the western third of Kansas. Practicing three days per week, Tim sees patients in Garden City, Liberal, and Lamar, Colorado. In 2012, Tim founded Hawkeye Development, a real estate company born from his personal experience in development and his desire to create meaningful local impact. Hawkeye focuses on transformative development projects that align private capital with public priorities and address critical community needs while fostering long-term economic growth.

Civic engagement has been a central priority for Tim since moving to Kansas. His past roles include service with the Garden City Chamber of Commerce, the Finney County Economic Development Board, and the USD 457 School Board. In addition to the WKCF board, he is a member of the Finney County Planning Commission, a volunteer with the Great Plains MakerSpace, and Board President of the Garden City Area Early Learning Center.

Tim has three daughters and, in his spare time, enjoys woodworking, fly fishing, and skiing.
