"Our Community, Our Future" Survey Initiative
Western Kansas Community Foundation (WKCF) is conducting the “Our Community, Our Future” survey initiative in Cimarron, Hugoton, Liberal, and Lakin in order to gain a deeper understanding of local priorities. The initiative signals a new strategy for the WKCF in its efforts to serve Southwest Kansas. The goal of the “Our Community, Our Future” survey is simple yet ambitious. It will help the Foundation understand how communities are thinking and feeling and provide a better picture of its' wants and needs.

Realizing Rural Potential

Urgent Needs Fund
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Western Kansas Community Foundation (WKCF) has created the Urgent Needs Fund, which is now open to receive donations.
Women of Purpose Fund
The Women of Purpose Fund was established in 2008 by southwest Kansas area women who made donations to build a permanently endowed fund with a current value of over $260,000 to support local programs focused on issues affecting women. Their vision, commitment and passion have supported annual grants to enable women succeed in our communities.
MayDay! Nonprofit Relief Drive and Urgent Needs Grants
The Western Kansas Community Foundation (WKCF) is to provide urgent needs grants in response to the COVID-19 crisis. The grants will be made to eligible nonprofits from the newly established Urgent Needs Fund with the Foundation. Several donors have generously contributed to the fund, most notably Dr. Luther and Ardis Fry, Black Hills Energy, Keller Leopold Insurance, and Pioneer Communications. WKCF will begin accepting applications May 1st, 2020. Grants will be made on a rolling basis, and continue while funds last.
Western Kansas Alliance of Community Foundations
In 2010 the Western Kansas Alliance of Community Foundation was formed with the express goal to provide support and partnerships on philanthropic giving through Community Foundations to Western Kansas communities.

A creative toolkit with videos and lessons, featuring the Garden City, Kansas Lee Richardson Zoo animals, that motivates kids to engage in healthy eating and active play!
